COLUMBUS
Robert D. Shattuck, 83, of Columbus, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his home.
Robert was born September 13, 1934, the son of George and Laura Shattuck. Later on, he married Gladys Carter. She preceded him in death on August 13, 2018. He then married Virginia Bridges on December 24, 1969. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1998.
Mr. Shattuck worked at Dorell Juvenile Group. He retired after 40 years of service. He also served in the United States Air Force. Robert loved to spend time with his family. Fishing, playing horseshoes and coin collecting were among his favorite things to do. Most importantly, Robert was a Christian.
Survivors include his children, Bobby Lee (Lori) Shattuck of Columbus, Mary Maynard of TN., Betty Shattuck Unger, Vicky Shattuck Burton, RaBecca Shattuck Williams, all of Columbus, Linda Shattuck of Franklin, David Shattuck of Columbus; half-sister, Lisa Perez of Hope; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Virginia and 14 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Ron Bridgewater officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
