MALE

Lance Greiwe, Columbus East junior football player

Greiwe returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and carried nine times for 111 yards and four scores — all in the first half — in a 56-0 win against Jennings County.

His performance last week: “We had a great week of practice. It was a great start. The O-line really helped my performance, and I have to give credit to them.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “We just watch film. We have a big game (this) week (at New Albany), so we have to study them and hopefully have a good week of practice again.”

Favorite drink: “Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, pizza”

Favorite book: “I like to read articles about sports.”

Favorite class: “Math”

Role model: “I just kind of look up to NFL athletes. Saquon Barkley is pretty good.”

Best advice: “Always try your best and keep trying through the tough times.”

Athletics goal: “To go to college and play sports.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I like Hawaii because I like the beach.”

FEMALE

Tanner Johnson, Columbus North senior soccer player

Johnson recorded a hat trick with three goals to lead the Bull Dogs to an 8-0 Conference Indiana win at Southport.

Her performance last week: ”I feel pretty positive about it, and I just hope that I can take that and carry it on to the rest of the season.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “My team and I just listen to music real loud to get pumped up.”

Favorite drink: “Body armor”

Favorite food: “Italian”

Favorite book: “Double Identity”

Favorite class: “English”

Role model: “My older brother Triston”

Best advice: “Hard work pays off.”

Athletics goal: “To beat my (personal) goals record (18) from last year.”

If you could travel anywhere: “To England or some other country where soccer is still a big thing and see how different it is from here.”
