IUPUC educators named as Gateway fellows
Six IUPUC staff members were recently recognized as Gateway fellows for participating in professional development.
Educators and community leaders gathered Sept. 14 at the Columbus Learning Center for the Gateway Community of Practice kickoff event.
The initiative, led by IUPUC, Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus and the EcO Attainment Network, is designed to increase student success in gateway courses, leading to increased student retention and degree completion, resulting in enhanced career and employment opportunities.
The six educators recognized at the event as Gateway fellows were:
- Susan Cox, who teaches English at Ivy Tech – Columbus and IUPUC
- Terry Dibble, who teaches English at IUPUC
- Elisabeth Hegmann, an English instructor at IUPUC and Ivy Tech – Columbus
- Tamara Miller, a math instructor at Ivy Tech and IUPUC
- Steve Mohler, who teaches business and economics at IUPUC
- Stephanie Vertrees, who teaches communications at Ivy Tech – Columbus and IUPUC
