Its fans remain scattered across the country. Cash bar available. Tickets: $15 in advance at the mall office on weekdays, Viewpoint Books, or at bucksstove.brownpapertickets.com. Many of you know the classic cool-ghoul seasonal tune “Monster Mash.” But professor William Sullivan of the Indiana University School of Medicine is bringing something of a monster mash-up to a free presentation at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. in Columbus. He will highlight the origins of vampires, werewolves, demons, Frankenstein and more in his talk “The Science Behind Monster Legends” at 6 p.m. Monday in the library’s Red Room. The Chaos I kinetic sculpture at The Commons will spring to life again for another session of the free Chaotic Tuesday gathering from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 300 Washington St. in downtown Columbus. In the past, the events have been a particular hit with youngsters, many of whom rarely have seen the whimsical contraption from late Swiss sculptor Jean Tinguely in its full whirring, spinning motion. Bartholomew County Public Library staff will help attendees make light-up, monster greeting cards. Information: 812-379-1266 or mybcpl.org
