A Columbus man who led police on a foot chase is in jail on preliminary drug-related charges.
Ricky O.K. Reed, 22, of 9975 Diane Drive, Apt. E, was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of:
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of legend drug-injection devices
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Bartholomew County warrant
- Resisting law enforcement
At about 3:32 p.m. Thursday, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputy Matt Bush attempted to stop Reed, who was walking in the area of First and John streets in Taylorsville.
After Reed failed to stop and began running southbound, Bush deployed K9 Diesel, said Judy Jackson, department spokesperson.
Reed stopped, dropping a red straw and a cigarette pack that contained methamphetamine. A syringe was found in Reed’s possession, Jackson said.
Reed was arrested and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail. He was in jail in lieu of $132,500 bond, Jackson said.
