Woman arrested after driving SUV into a home

Columbus police arrested a local woman for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after she crashed her sport utility vehicle into a home.

Officers were sent to the 1200 block of Pine Hill Drive at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday about a vehicle that had crashed into a house. Officers found a 2013 Dodge Durango that struck an attached garage of a home, causing significant damage, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Police identified the driver as Melissa J. Calderon, 26, Columbus, Harris said. Calderon’s speech was slurred and she had difficulty maintaining her balance, Harris said.
