Letter: Omar person, candidate of integrity

From: Jean Marr Wilkins

Columbus

All of us who live in Bartholomew County would be very fortunate to have Hanna Omar as a member of our county council. The council presides over the county budget, and it is not a moment too soon to have someone with Hanna’s financial expertise, public spirit and outstanding character as a member.

Currently, Hanna works with commercial clients at a financial institution assisting with financial, technical support and other banking issues. This work involves coordinating with financial teams across the bank. Hanna has an MBA from IUPUC and taught political science there from 2012 to 2016.

In 2009, Hanna founded and owned a retail company in her native New York, hiring and training employees as well as making all financial decisions, including procurement, accounting and pricing.

Since 2011, Hanna has lived with her husband in Columbus and has been a member of our city’s Board of Zoning since 2012. She is a member of the Junior Achievement Volunteer group, tutoring underserved children in Indianapolis.

I have worked with Hanna on various local projects and found her to be unfailingly reliable, efficient and effective — she is a true team player. But more than that, Hanna is a warm-hearted, caring person of absolute integrity.

Hanna is running for Bartholomew County Council District 1. Early voting has already begun at the Courthouse, and I urge everyone in District 1 to vote for Hanna Omar now or on Nov. 6.
