Pamela Placek Denton, 63, of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at her home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. Mark Hamel will officiate. Interment will be in Butlerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Born January 13, 1955, in Munich, Germany, Pamela was the daughter of Lowell and Janet Shireman Weidman. She married J.D. Denton on July 17, 1987. He survives.
Pamela retired from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. She had also worked for Visiting Nurses, and Weidman Woodworking.
She attended Brown’s Corner Chapel, and enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, camping, and going to the beach.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Weidman of Elizabethtown; husband, J.D. Denton of North Vernon; one daughter, Mindee (Chuck) Pike of Columbus; two sisters, Beverly (Mike) Stein of Vallonia, and Nancy Weidman of Columbus; one brother, Ronnie (Chris) Weidman of Columbus; and two grandchildren, Kaylin and Jesse Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her son, Toby Placek.
