Marie Elizabeth Gray, 90, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday October 24, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Warsaw.
She was born September 9, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri and has been a resident of Columbus since 1968.
She was married to Norman Wilbur Gray in 1951 and he preceded her in death January 21, 2013.
Marie was an active member of the Mill Race Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. She crocheted over 600 afghans for the children at Riley Hospital for Children. She enjoyed making memories with family and friends and especially enjoyed face time with her great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday November 2, 2018 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Erik Ohman officiating.
Following the service, entombment will be at Maple Hill Mausoleum in Plainfield, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children in her memory.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Marie (Joe) Bryan of Warsaw; sons, Robert Norman (Susan) Gray of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Thomas Michael Gray of Warsaw; a sister, Janet Kaye (Dean) Leonard of Plainfield; grandchildren, Scott (Laura) Bryan of Matthews, North Carolina, Kelly Bryan of Mishawaka, Amanda (Aaron) Coffman and Abigail (Wesley) Campbell, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a great granddaughter, Jenna Coffman. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, her mother, Opal Quarrels Wilson, her father Alvin Buell and her sister Iva Mae Myers.
