Pack-a-Patrol-Car continues at sheriff’s department

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department annual “Pack-a-Patrol Car” event in which non-perishable food items are collected for local food pantries continues through Nov. 15.

Collection containers are located at the sheriff’s department, 543 Second St. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off in the lobby through Nov. 15.

The individual who donates the most items could win an opportunity to be “Bartholomew County’s Honorary Sheriff for a Day,” to learn about the job from Sheriff Matt Myers. There is no age restriction to be eligible and the winner does not need to be a Bartholomew County resident.

Those who want donations tracked for the “Sheriff for a Day” contest must check-in at the front desk from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Donated items will be taken to Love Chapel’s Food Pantry or the Salvation Army.
