Columbus police arrested an Indianapolis woman on multiple charges after officers determined she was operating a stolen vehicle while intoxicated, and had methamphetamine in her possession.
Police were sent to the 3500 block of West County Road 450S at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday about a person refusing to leave a gas station, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Officers found the woman, identified as Jessie L. Harmon, 40, Indianapolis, in a vehicle in the gas station parking lot, Harris said. While speaking with Harmon, officers noted she appeared disoriented when she got out of the vehicle’s driver’s seat.
The officers learned a short time later that Harmon had a warrant out of Marion County pending seeking her arrest on charges of possession of cocaine and identity deception, Harris said.
Officers also determined the vehicle Harmon was driving had been recently reported stolen in Indianapolis, Harris said.
When searching the car, officers found drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine inside the stolen car, Harris said.
Harmon was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for a blood draw when she refused to take a breath test, Harris said. Officers received a warrant for the blood draw when Harmon refused to cooperate, Harris said.
She was arrested on preliminary charges of auto theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of methamphetmine and the Bartholomew County warrant.
