Letter: Nowlin’s skills useful as state rep

From: Rich Stenner

I’m writing to The Republic today in hopes of convincing some residents, its readers, to vote for Dale Nowlin. Dale is running to be the District 59 representative to Indiana’s House of Representatives.

I know Dale as a math teacher and department chair at North High and Northside Middle Schools, where he dedicates himself to serving as the best teacher and leader he can be. In addition, Dale has been appointed by the U.S. secretary of education and serves as one of the 26 members of the National Assessment Governing Board, which oversees the testing program that issues our national education report cards.

I also know Dale as a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he has served as an adult Sunday School teacher and in other leadership positions, using his time and talents to nurture and enrich the lives of others.

If elected, I believe Dale will take the dedication, determination and skills that he demonstrates in his professional life, along with the values that I’ve seen exhibited at church, and use them to serve us from the Statehouse. I’m sure that Dale will work to improve Indiana’s economy, strengthen the public education system and support work across the state to overcome the problems of drug addiction.

Please join me in supporting and voting for Dale Nowlin for state representative.
