Columbus police arrested a local man on a warrant and drug-related charges after he was located at a business in the 2100 block of State Street.
Officers were sent to the location at 5:45 p.m. Thursday and spoke with Jerome S. Brantley, 40, of 3361 Countrybrook St. South, where they confirmed the Bartholomew County warrant for his arrest, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
While speaking with Brantley, officers could smell an odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle, Harris said. After Brantley was arrested on the warrant, officers searched the vehicle and found marijuana, methamphetamine and hydrocodone pills, Harris said.
In addition to the warrant, Brantley was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, Harris said.
Brantley was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $68,000 bond, jail officials said.
