Bible Church of Columbus — Pastor Dave Marvin begins a new series of messages, “Abundant Life: Straight Talk from Jesus,” at the 10 a.m. Sunday service, when worshippers will gain a better understanding of Jesus’ statement, “I came that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly.” The church is located at 3010 10th St., Columbus.

Life Group Bible Studies are available at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. The Children’s Ministries through grade 6 begin at 9:45 a.m. Teen Ministry will meet at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Additional Life Group Bible studies are available throughout the week.

First Baptist — The Rev. Dan Cash will deliver the sermon, “The Problem with Predetermined Outcomes,” with Scripture from II Kings 5:1-15a during the communion service Sunday at the church, 3300 Fairlawn Drive. All Saints Day will be observed.

Children through grade 6 may leave during the service for Children’s Church.

The service will be streamed live at fbccolumbus.org/WP/sermons.

Professional child care will be available on the lower level. Sunday School classes will meet at 10:45 a.m.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet at the church at noon Tuesday, and The Hannah Circle of American Baptist Women will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday as well.

The Men of Faith will meet at 6:15 a.m. Friday at Four Seasons Retirement Center for breakfast and Bible Study. All men are welcome.

First Presbyterian — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. at the church, 512 Seventh St., Columbus. The church will explore a story about the prophet Elisha found in 2 Kings 5:1-15a. The sermon is “House Call.” The service will include communion. The adult choir will lead the worship.

Infant and toddler care is available from 9:15 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. Fridays, and a second men’s support group of working-age men meets every Monday at 6:15 a.m.

People in the community in need of a meal are invited to Hot Meals offered 5 p.m. Friday, with entry through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

The church is LGBTQ-friendly, open and affirming to all.

First United Methodist — At the 9 a.m. traditional service and the 11 a.m. celebration service, the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “The Communion of Saints,” at the church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus. The scripture will be Revelation 21:1-6a. Sunday school for all ages begins at 10:10 a.m.

Childcare is available during both services.

This will be All Saints Sunday, where the church will honor those beloved saints who have inspired and guided lives while celebrating the fact that their legacy lives on within and among us.

Flintwood Wesleyan — The Amplify non-traditional service is at 9 a.m. Sunday and Sunday School classes are at 10 a.m. The Well traditional service is at 11 a.m. Both Amplify and The Well are held in the main sanctuary. The Prayer Team will meet at 8 a.m. Sunday School classes meet in their regular rooms at the church, located at 5300 E. 25th St., Columbus.

Adult choir practice is 5 p.m. followed by the Sunday evening service at 6 p.m.

“In The Beginning …,” a small-group Bible study, will not meet on Tuesday, since it is election day.

Wednesday activities begin with supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by GLOW at 6:15 p.m. The Prayer Team will meet at 6:15 p.m. in The Prayer Room. Youth meets at 6:30 p.m. and Adult Bible study will meet at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Grace Lutheran — Worship is at 8 and 10:30 a.m., with Sunday School for all ages at 9:25 a.m. The Rev. Greg Seltz, executive director of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty, Washington, D.C., and former Lutheran Hour speaker, will deliver the message, “God’s All-Saints’ Mission Victory — Every Nation Worshiping around the Throne of the Lamb,” based on Revelation 7:9-11. Seltz will lead Adult Bible Classes at 9:30 a.m., speaking on “The Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty and You: Putting Your Temporal Liberties to Work for the Proclamation of the Eternal Liberties of Christ.”

Seltz will present, “Religious Liberty in America and the Proclamation of the Gospel” at 6:15 p.m. today, with free childcare available.

ALPHA Class continues Tuesday on the topic, “Who is the Holy Spirit and What Does He Do?” and the Searching Scripture class will continue with a study of the Ten Commandments. A light supper will be served at 6 p.m. Child care will be available.

Old Union United Church of Christ — Sunday’s 10 a.m. sermon, “There’s No Turning Back,” marks the 24th Sunday after Pentecost with text from Ruth 1:1-18; Hebrews 9:11-14; and Mark 12:28-34. The church is located at 12703 N. County Road 50W, Edinburgh.

Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. followed by fellowship at 9:40 a.m.

Wednesday Bible study will resume at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Petersville United Methodist — The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will deliver the message, “God’s Purpose,” with scripture from Isaiah 25:6-9. The choir will be singing special music, directed by Kathy Bush and accompanied by Chris Kimerling. Teresa Covert will lead the children’s time.

Recognition of All Saints Sunday with candle lighting and a service of communion will take place during the service.

A time of fellowship will follow the worship service at the church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus.

Larry and Connie Nolting and Chris Kimerling will host the Monday night Bible study, meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday. New members are welcome at either of the classes.

The Sit and Stitch group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Nolting home. Prayer Group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with Barb Hedrick as leader.

Choir practice is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

St. Paul Lutheran — During the 8 a.m. and the 10:45 a.m. services Sunday, Pastor Doug Bauman will present the sermon, “Look and See,” based on Revelations 7:9. The church will celebrate All Saint’s Sunday and commemorate those members who have died. Parents will join their children for Together As Family Day during the Christian Education Hour at 9:30 a.m. for study of Heaven and all the Saints and will make Prayer Dice.

Spanish worship service begins in the chapel at 10:45 a.m.

Trinity Pentecostal Holiness — Bishop Bob Vance from Lakeland, Florida, will be in revival at the church, 325 McClure Road, at 7 p.m. Nov. 9-10.

Westside Community — Pastor Robert Vester will lead the service at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, on the corner of State Road 46 West and Tipton Lakes Boulevard, Columbus. Holy communion will be served during the service. The children’s program through grade 6 meets at 10 a.m.

The Women Conquering Cancer (WCC) group will be sharing refreshments after the service in honor of women and men who are battling cancer or have had cancer in the past.

Vester will be sharing pictures and stories from his recent Sabbatical travel in the U.S. and overseas. This presentation will be from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. at the church. Refreshments will be served.

The Ruby Tuesday Women’s Bible Study has begun a new study, “The Joy of Encouragement,” by David Jeremiah. This group meets from 10 to 11:15 a.m. each Tuesday at the church.

There is a Men’s and Women’s 7-week Bible Study that meets from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Men’s study is “The Armor of God” and the Women’s study is “Gideon: Your Weakness, God’s Strength.”

Events

Flintwood Wesleyan training program — The first Discipleship Training Program class begins at 9:30 a.m. today at the church, 5300 E. 25th St., Columbus. The class will be upstairs in The Friendship Center. This class is a New Testament elective on Philippians and will be taught by the Rev. Glenn Black.

Tuesday is Election Day with the church serving as a voting center.

From 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday is Chicago Pizza Take-over Night. Eat in or order to go, just mention Flintwood Wesleyan Church to the cashier and 20 percent of the sale goes to our Building Hope Project. We will also have baked goods for sale in the lobby.

The 29th annual Open Hearth Craft Show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10. There will be wonderful craft vendors, local artisans, bakers, candy makers and wood crafters. Food will be available to purchase and can be eaten on site. If you would like to be a vendor, contact Kim Rutan at the church office for details.

First United Methodist — From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, the Learning Tree Preschool will present the Holiday Bazaar featuring gifts and crafts from a variety of vendors. It’s at the church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus.

Petersville United Methodist Turkey Supper — The second day of the 51st annual Turkey Supper will take place today at Petersville United Methodist Church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus. Serving will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Adult tickets will be $12, tickets for children ages 5 to 12 will cost $6, and children 4 and younger eat for free. The menu will include baked turkey, dressing, gravy, noodles, green beans, cranberry relish or applesauce, rolls, dessert and drinks. Carry-out will be available in the annex on the northeast side of the church.

St. Paul Lutheran — The annual Girl Scout Chili Cook-off and Bake Sale will be held at noon Nov. 11 in the Fellowship Room. Proceeds support comfort needs for shut-ins.

Jonesville Christian — 64 to Grayson will sing at the Jonesville Christian Church, 609 Commerce St., Jonesville, at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11. This group originated as students of Kentucky Christian University and have continued to sing after graduation. They will have the morning service to share their message in song. There will also be a Thanksgiving Pitch-in Dinner; bring several dishes of food to share. Meat and drinks will be provided.

Lowell General Baptist — The church will be having the last hymn sing of the year at 7 p.m today. Cumberland Thunder from Russell Springs, Kentucky, will be the featured singers. The church is at 2102 Southline Drive, Columbus.

Taylorsville United Methodist Church — At 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 there will be a hymn sing at the church, 1361 Tannehill Road, Taylorsville.

Waynesburg Christian church — Fall revival services are being held Nov. 11-14 with featured evangelist Lane Loman, former lead pastor of Columbus Free Methodist Church. Revival service times are 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 11 and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12-14 at the church, 10230 W. County Road 850S, Hartsville.
