Melba Kay Pierce, 73 of Jeffersonville, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at her residence.
She was born October 20, 1945 in Indianapolis. She was the daughter of Edd Nell Rooks and Ruth (Burton) Southers.
She married James L. Pierce on September 17, 1962.
She is survived by her husband; son, Nickie K. (Ali) Hill of North Vernon, daughters, Amy F. (Kendall) Lewellyn of Pekin, Jacqueline S. (Jeffrey) Wilder of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Carla K. (Allen) Decker of Washington, Indiana, and Summer D. Alldaffer of New Albany; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanley (Sarah) Earls and Harold Zeigler, both of Franklin, Larry (Tracy) Rooks of Columbia, Kentucky, and sister, Janet (Ernest) Robinson of Loogootee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; Carlos Rooks, and sister, Karen Gail Mott.
Melba retired from Green Valley Nursing Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 by Jeffrey Wilder at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
