Mrs. Jane Wray (Forrest) Coy, 87, of Madison, formerly of South Bend and Columbus, entered this life on November 3, 1931 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

She was the loving daughter of the late Frank and Wavel Spencer Wray.

Jane was a 1949 graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, and she had previously earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University South Bend.

Jane was first married to Dr. Norman Forrest on September 5, 1951 in Washington, D.C., and this union was blessed with a son and a daughter.

She later married Wayne Coy on June 28, 1989 in Columbus.

She had taught school briefly in South Bend, and she had been a registered nurse. She had worked at Columbus Regional Hospital, Koala Hospital & Counseling Center, Madison State Hospital and King’s Daughters Hospital in Madison.

Jane was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and enjoyed golf, reading “pleasant” murder mysteries, and painting with water colors. She followed all the golf and tennis circuits.

Jane died on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 7:04 a.m. at Hickory Creek of Madison in Madison. Jane will be missed by her loving daughter, Robin Singer and her husband James of Madison; her son, Michael Forrest and his wife, Susan of Brentwood, California; her grandchildren, Kathryn Singer, Lauren Legrand (Brian), Sarah Collins (Jason) and Meredith Kiley (Michael); her great-grandchildren, Emma, Addison and Logan; her stepson, Richard Coy and his wife, Hortensia of LaHabra Heights, California, her stepdaughter, Audrey Boss of Columbus; her step-grandchildren, Christie Coy (Ben Mitchell-Yellin) and Kelly Boss Trowbridge (Rick); her step-great-grandchildren, Simon, Miles, Lucienne and Eli .

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Wray; and her husband, Wayne Coy, who died January 18, 2018.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 11 a.m., by family members at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Hanover Presbyterian Cemetery in Hanover. Friends may visit Saturday, November 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison.
