First Fridays kicking off new season of free shows

One of the most popular and longest-running local series will kick off a new season Dec. 7 at The Commons. And it will include a native Columbus artist who has performed worldwide.

Plus, it features two other local ensembles.

The Columbus Area Arts Council’s presentation of the free First Fridays for Families regularly attracts crowds of 300 to 500 people for youngster-oriented entertainment, including short plays, concerts, puppet shows, magic and more. The primary audience for the shows from December through April is kindergartners through third-graders, according to organizers.

But some local clans bring along siblings and the grandparents, too.
