• the customer who turned in my purse after I left it at White Castle, and thanks to the staff who kept it in the office until I returned to pick it up.

• The Republic for recognizing the accomplishments of the Hope FFA chapter and its adviser, including the recognition awarded at the national FFA convention in Indianapolis concerning their suicide-prevention campaign.

• Charles Doup for the great letter to the editor about tariffs.

• Denny and Bonnie Ayers for the lovely Thanksgiving card.

• owner/chef Gethin Thomas on the upcoming fourth anniversary of Henry Social Club.

• Bryce Jones at Carver Toyota for being an amazing car salesman, from an appreciative customer.

• the woman with the 2-year-old boy who paid for the extras I didn’t have money for at the Dollar Tree.

• the police officer who changed my son’s tire at 3 a.m. after he got arrested.

• the continuing blue wave.

• the Democrats and Republicans who voted for Democrats to preserve our democracy.

• the candidate and his wife who worked hard and so long and made me proud, from Elsie Hege.

• the person that found my phone in the women’s restroom at Burger King on Tuesday and returned it to the front counter.

• Ken Fudge for telling the truth.

• Kim Jesse for being as extremely beautiful as you are in mind, heart and body, from James Stephen Placek, a.k.a. Crazy Steve.

• Republicans who had 17 presidential candidates to choose from, many who may have been reasonable, but instead chose the most divisive one of the bunch.

• the newspaper for splashing the names and faces on the front page of people who were arrested that are trying to overcome their mistakes by working full-time jobs, attending church and caring for their children.

• the writer of the letter to the editor for his severe attack on the city administration’s activities and personnel.

• those who complain about everything made in China, but then complain about tariffs.

• sheep-like supporters who apparently would follow Donald Trump over a cliff.

• people working so hard to not see what’s going on with the city administration.

• those who would choose Russians over their own neighbors because of their politics and must ask themselves why.

• the boys or girls who made fun of a boy at a local elementary school.

• children that bully other children, which reveals how they are being raised.

• the new Exit 76 sculptures around the outlet mall in Edinburgh.

• all the straight-party voters in Bartholomew County who miss voting for a qualified candidate.
