COLUMBUS
Patricia M. Walker, 53, of Columbus, passed away at 3:43 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at her home.
Patricia was born October 11, 1965, in Columbus, the daughter of Bernon and Karen Malson Walker.
She attended St. Bartholomew Catholic School in her early childhood years, eventually graduating from Columbus North High School, where she was in the high school band.
Patricia enjoyed rock hunting and loved animals.
She was a licensed practical nurse at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville.
Her passion for helping others led to 18 years of being a caring and attentive nurse.
Patricia was also very active in helping her companion, Marc Smith, coach baseball, basketball and soccer for over 10 years.
Survivors include her sons, Zachary Walker and Jeremy Smith, both of Brown County; father, Bernon Walker; sister, Anne (Mark) McAninch — both of Taylorsville; companion, Marc Smith of Brown County; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Walker; daughter, Kayleigh Dawn Smith; father and mother-in-law, Jerry (Mary) Hatton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jon Lucas officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
