Bartholomew County REMC is working to repair a pole that was hit by a semi at the intersection of County Road 300W and County Road 600S, said Marty Lasure, vice president of communications and member services.
The location is west of I-65 and south of the Woods-N-Waters campground in Wayne Township.
A power outage is affecting about 500 people, Lasure said. It will take about an hour to fix the pole, and the road will need to be closed at the intersection while the work is being performed.
Since the pole has multiple connections, it is more complicated and time consuming to fix it, she said.
