PEARLAND, TEXAS
Elizabeth M. Whipker McKinney, 90, of Pearland, Texas, formerly of Columbus, died at November 29, 2018, at the Rio Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Texas City, Texas.
Elizabeth was born July 31, 1928, in Columbus the daughter of Elmer Whipker Sr. and Goldie Talley Whipker. She married James W. McKinney.
She was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church, the Doll Club, Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers, the Mustang Club and was a life long member of 4-H. She was also an award winning porcelain doll maker.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Columbus Fireman Cheer Fund to restore dolls from fires.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra (James) Reichle of League City, Texas, Rita (Kerry) Bailey of Lucas, Texas, and Beth (Robby) Lane of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Carla Hirsch, Jennifer Reichle, Sarah Bailey, Rachel Lane, Ryan Lane and Steven Lane; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bennie Whipker, Alan Whipker, Harry Whipker and Elmer Whipker Jr. and a sister, Margaret Volland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James on March 26, 2008; grandson, Jeremy Lane; and brothers, David, Herschel, Paul, Perry, Don, Halford and David Whipker.
