Cougars notch first win
VEVAY — South Decatur picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night, a 78-68 victory at Switzerland County.
The Cougars led 46-20 at halftime after committing only four turnovers in the first half.
“We played a great first half, had really good execution and took care of the ball well, and then they came out with a full-court press and turned us over a little bit,” South Decatur coach Kendall Wildey said.
Lane Lauderbaugh led the Cougars (1-4) with 22 points. Wyatt Gatewood scored 18, while Tyler Sporleder — who went 10 for 10 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter — added 14 and Hunter Johnson had 12.
Braves stop Jets
TRAFALGAR — Indian Creek jumped out to a 32-15 halftime lead and went on to hand Hauser a 60-24 defeat.
Bree Hadley led the Jets (2-8) with nine points.
Columbus Christian falls
MARTINSVILLE — Columbus Christian gave up 32 turnovers and 19 offensive rebounds in a 70-59 loss at Martinsville Tabernacle Christian.
Conner Emily led the Crusaders (4-3) with 29 points. C.J. Reed added 18.
Austin tops Trinity
AUSTIN — Austin jumped out to a 25-16 lead against Trinity Lutheran and held on for a 70-65 victory.
AJ Goecker led the Cougars (1-4) with 25 points. Mitchell Hackman added 16.

Crusaders take loss
MARTINSVILLE — Martinsville Tabernacle Christian outscored Columbus Christian 19-2 in the second quarter, and that was basically the difference in the Crusaders’ 51-35 loss.
Madison Henderson led Columbus Christian (5-4) with eight points. Kayla Jones added six points, seven rebounds and seven steals; and Grace Lorimor grabbed 10 rebounds.
Owls topple Panthers
SEYMOUR — Jennings County led 28-24 early in the second half, but Seymour rallied for a 59-53 Hoosier Hills Conference victory.
Madi Skinner led the Panthers (3-6, 0-3) with 26 points.

Eagles down Braves
TRAFALGAR — Brown County won three matches by pin and three more by forfeit in a 41-36 win at Indian Creek.
Brandon Leslie (113 pounds), Bryce Denton (132) and Aiden Vaught (138) all won by pin for the Eagles. Chris Luckey (120), Lane Mullins (195) and Dawson Lambert (220) all won by forfeit, and David Tucker (126) won by technical fall.
