Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department was one of the first Indiana law enforcement agencies to begin using the electronic Citation and Warning System (eCWS), using a hand-held scanner to read bar codes on a driver’s license and vehicle registration to produce an electronic ticket right at the roadside.
