COLUMBUS
Janice S. Fletcher, 81, of Columbus, passed from this life on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 12:10A.M. at her residence.
Born on April 3, 1937 in Edinburgh the daughter of Nicholas Dolph and Lucille Duckworth Grindstaff. On November 18, 1956 she married Richard B. Fletcher.
Mrs. Fletcher retired from Bartholomew County Clerks office. She was a member of the Edinburgh Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers. One of her greatest joys were her dogs.
Survivors include her Daughters, Cindy (Sergio) Ortiz of Austin, Texas and Kim (Dan Jackson) Dawson of Franklin; Grandchildren, Fletcher Ortiz of Houston, Texas and Lindsey Dawson of Franklin; Great Grandson, Dominic J. Ortiz of Houston, Texas; and one brother, Steve (Barbara) Grindstaff of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard B. Fletcher on July 16, 1997; and Brothers, Hugh, Donnie and Jack Grindstaff and 3 as infants.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at Barkes, Weaver, & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and also from 12noon to time of service on Friday.
Funeral services will be at 1:00P.M. on Friday at Barkes, Weaver, & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
