MILFORD

Rev. Leroy Reed, 80, Milford, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Born June 20, 1938 in Wildcat, Kentucky, he was the son of Hugh and Francis (Davidson) Reed.

He married Florence Lunsford on April 25, 1958 and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2015.

Leroy worked as a mechanic and owned a Garage in Milford. He also taught mechanics at the vocational school in Versailles. Leroy became a minister over 40 years ago and together with his wife, Florence, founded the Freewill Baptist Church in Milford, Indiana. When Leroy had free time from church, he loved to go hunting and fishing.

He is survived by three sons, Tommy Lee (Julie) Reed, Flat Rock, Hughie Edwin (Melissa) Reed, Milford, David Dwight (Theresa) Reed, Milford; one son-in-law, Jack McCorkhill, Greensburg; brother, Hugh David Reed, North Vernon; two sisters, Esther Downs, Florida, Lula Sizemore, Versailles; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Fannie Marie McCorkhill; one son, Plez Reed; one brother, J.B. Reed; and four sisters, Doris McQueen, Pearl Roe, Nancy Goins, and Della Smith.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg and from 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Free Will Baptist Church in Milford.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the church with Rev. Glenn Pointer, Rev. David Douglas, and Rev. Ronnie Hampton officiating.

Interment will be held in the Milford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Milford Freewill Baptist Church.
