COLUMBUS
John W. Horman, 87, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 11:12 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
John was born April 24, 1931, in Jackson County, Indiana, the son of Walter and Erma Bode Horman. On February 4, 1951, he married Evelyn Meyer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jonesville, IN.
Mr. Horman was co-owner of BB & H Tool and was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church — Jonesville.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Evelyn; daughters, Cherie (Rick) Trimpe of Jonesville, Debbie (Curt) Price of Columbus; grandchildren, Jeremy (Miranda) Tempest, Jessica Spurlock, Jayla (Joe) Fiesbeck, Jennifer (Chris) Cooper, Chad (Jill) Price; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Geneva Kerkhof and Mildred Behrman.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church — Jonesville with Pastor Matt Jung officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.
Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery — Jonesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church General Fund or Education Fund.
