Two arrested on drug-related charges after traffic stop

Columbus police arrested two people on drug-related charges after officers observed their vehicle did not have working brake lights.

Officers stopped the vehicle near 11th and California streets shortly before midnight Tuesday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

While speaking with the vehicle occupants, a warrant was confirmed for the front seat passenger, identified as Tyrone C. Williams, 47, Martinsville, Harris said. While searching Williams, officers found heroin inside his wallet, Harris said.

The officers also arrested the vehicle’s driver who was identified as Lori L. Cobb, 48, Columbus, after a search resulted in narcotics and drug paraphernalia being located inside her vehicle, Harris said.

Williams was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of heroin and the warrant. Cobb was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a legend drug injection device.
