What if the president in office in prior years of our nation’s history had decided that no people of Italian ancestry could be admitted to the United States because they might be mafia members, no people of German ancestry could be admitted because they might be Nazi spies, no Irish could be admitted because all they do is drink and do not work, no Chinese could be admitted because they might be part of a criminal tong, etc.? Where would we be as a country?
We are tired of the demonization practiced by our elected representatives. Of course, Republicans have used “putting down others in order to elevate themselves” tactics, so what the current leadership is doing is no surprise.
What is difficult to understand is how they square their put down of others with their often expressed supposed Christian beliefs. What happened to love thy neighbor?
