A local man was arrested on several felony charges after he fled from Columbus police officers.
The Columbus Police Department’s Intelligence Led Policing Unit attempted to stop a vehicle at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday on Terrace Lake Road driven by Daniel C. Miller, 27, of 4148 W. County Road 25S, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Miller refused to pull over and a pursuit continued until Miller stopped the vehicle in front of his home on West County Road 25S a few minutes later, Harris said. A high risk traffic stop was conducted and Miller was arrested at the scene.
He was then transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where officers located methamphetamine and a controlled substance concealed in his clothing, Harris said.
A search warrant for Miller’s home was later granted and officers located a large amount of drug paraphernalia inside the home, including digital scales, syringes and drug packaging materials, Harris said.
Miller was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a Legend drug, trafficking with an inmate and a Bartholomew Superior Court 1 warrant, jail officials said.
The warrant was for charges of dealing in methamphetamine, neglect of a dependent, possession of a narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance and dealing in marijuana, jail officials said.
