Indiana University’s Michael Brinegar has been named Big Ten Freshman Swimmer of the Week.
Brinegar, a Columbus resident, won the 500-yard freestyle in 4 minutes, 26.95 seconds and the 1,000 freestyle in 9:07.43 to help lead the third-ranked Hoosiers to a 188-106 win against Purdue.
Indiana will host No. 8 Louisville on Friday, with diving set to begin at 12:15 p.m. and swimming starting at 2 p.m.
