JACKSON COUNTY — Two Columbus residents were arrested on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 65 in southern Jackson County.
Indiana State Senior Trooper Mark LaMaster from the Sellersburg post All Crimes Policing Squad on Tuesday saw a white Ford pickup truck northbound near the 41 mile marker with possible false or fictitious plates and also noticed they were following other vehicles too closely.
After stopping the truck, LaMaster requested assistance from Master Trooper Nathan Abbott and K9 Teague, who alerted on the vehicle, said Sgt. Carey Huls, ISP spokesman.
A search revealed about one and a quarter pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden underneath the truck, a small amount of marijuana, a syringe and more than $4,500 in cash, Huls said.
Arrested were:
Gregory S. Nasby, 53, Columbus, on preliminary charges of felony dealing in methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor dealing in marijuana.
Theresa M. Burns, 46, Columbus, on preliminary charges of felony dealing in methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of a hypodermic needle and misdemeanor dealing in marijuana.
