ANDERSON
Margaret Kathyrne (Carson) Balsley, 92, of Anderson, passed away on Sunday February 10, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on October 21, 1926 in Bartholomew County to the late Dorance James and Esther Ann (Essex) Carson.
Kathyrne graduated from Columbus High School and Ball State University with a teaching degree.
She retired from Anderson Community Schools in 1981.
She was involved in AAUW, Progress Club, Four Freshman Society and attended Bethany Christian Church.
Kathyrne is survived by her daughter; Celia Ann Grise of Greensburg, IN, daughter-in-laws; Jo Ann Balsley of Somerset, PA, Janet Balsley of Westfield, IN, grandchildren; Megan (Joshua) McKinley of Pittsburg, PA, Mikel (Katie) Balsley of Boswell, PA, Patrick Balsley of Westfield, IN, Nicholas Balsley of Noblesville, IN, Laura (Jonas) Howell of Columbus, IN, Amy (Jacob) Haynes of Columbus , IN, Dr. Diane Grise of Chandler, AZ, great grandchildren; Landon and Brooke McKinley, Scott and Tyler Balsley, Liam and Mason Howell, Abigail and Henry Haynes, brother; James (Norma) Carson of Elizabethtown, IN, along with several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Richard Lewis Balsley, sons; Richard Scott Balsley, James David Balsley, Rex Lewis Balsley, son-in-law; Kenneth Grise, brother; David Carson, sister-in-law; Carmen Carson, and in-laws; Winfield Scott and Margaret Balsley.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St. Anderson, IN.
Services will be Saturday, February 16, 2019, 11:30 a.m. with Kent Stookey officiating at the Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park.
