Driver arrested on five warrants

Staff Reports

Columbus police arrested a Hope man wanted on five Bartholomew County warrants during a traffic stop.

Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Chanceton M. Daniels, 25, Hope, at 3:40 p.m. Thursday near 13th Street and Michigan Avenue after observing his car didn’t have a license plate.

After Daniels was stopped, they determined that his driver’s license was listed as suspended and officers also confirmed the five warrants.

He was arrested on the warrants and a preliminary charge of driving while suspended with a prior conviction, Harris said.

Daniels was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond, jail officials said.
