Patberg helps IU upset No. 10 Iowa in return

Ali Patberg made her return to the court a winning one Thursday night.

The redshirt-junior from Columbus North, who had missed the previous three games while recovering from a separated shoulder, scored 21 points and led Indiana with seven assists in a 75-73 Big Ten women’s basketball upset of 10th-ranked Iowa.

Patberg went 7 of 13 from the field, including 6 of 8 from 3-point range, and 1 of 2 from the free-throw line and added four rebounds in a team-high 37 minutes of action for the Hoosiers (18-10, 7-9). Brenna Wise scored 24 points to lead Indiana, which overcame a 38-30 halftime deficit.

Earlier in the day, Patberg and Wise were named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District second team. Patberg holds a 3.82 GPA while majoring in Finance.
