Carrol Mae Vest, 81, of Hope, died Thursday February 21, 2019 at her residence.
Before retirement she had been employed as a security guard at Griffin Industries. She had also been employed at Roviar Sportswear.
She was a member of Hope House of Prayer.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening and being with her family.
Born February 26, 1937 in Salem, IN, Carrol was the daughter of Raymond S. and Mercedes C. Dugan Wade. She married Zenis Vest, Sr. October 14, 1952 and he preceded her in death January 4, 2012.
Survivors include, children, Diana Miller of Hope, Zenis “Bobby” Vest, Jr. of Hope and Sherry (Rickey) Leonard of Greensburg; grandchildren, Christina (Brent) Humphress of Hampstead, NC, Amy (Ronnie) Smith of Columbus, Shanon (Brett) Pittman of Hope, Jeromy (Denise) Leonard of North Vernon, Misty Pearl of Hartsville and Emily and Debra Vest of Columbus; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Wayne (Bonnie) Wade of Greensburg, Mattie(Leon) Coomer of Letts, Carmen (David) Burton of Alert, Mary Jane of KY., Glen (Carolyn) Wade of Hope, Merle Wade of Newbern and Jimmy Wade of Columbus.
Carrol’s funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor and son-in-law, Rickey Leonard officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray Carrol’s funeral expenses.
Carrol was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mercedes, her husband, Zenis, grandson, Roy Allen Miller, granddaughter, Jamie Leonard Gibson and 4 brothers.
