Debra Faulk, of Lexington, Kentucky, will portray former slave Nancy Green, who became better known as the face of Aunt Jemima pancake mix from 1890 until 1923 for the R.T. Davis Milling Co. Faulk’s free, dramatic presentation will be at 6 p.m. March 14 in the Red Room of the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. in downtown Columbus. Playing the role of “Aunt Jemima” gave Green financial independence few African Americans and few women experienced at the time. Information: mybcpl.org.
