COLUMBUS
Doris Demaree, age 77, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at 3:44 a.m. Tuesday March 12, 2019, in Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born March 23, 1941, in Milan, Indiana, to the late Robert and Thora Liggett.
She married Charles L. Demaree on August 16, 1965, and he survives. Doris was a school teacher in Indiana prior to raising her family and was a devoted and proud mother and wife.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday March 15, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in memory of Doris.
Doris is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, John (Kaya) Demaree of Libertyville, Illinois, and Andrew (Alyssa) Demaree of Noblesville, Indiana; a sister, Brenda (Bill) Champine of Columbus; a brother, Roger (Mariellen) Liggett of Crown Point, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Lauren Demaree, Mark Demaree and Josh Lovett.
