Two arrested in traffic stop after police find fentanyl

Two people were arrested on several felony drug-related charges after a traffic stop in which investigators found fentanyl in their possession.

The Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives arrested Ryan S. Redmon, 27, Hope and Sasha N. Armitage, 28, Columbus, after finding several grams of fentanyl in their possession, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Detectives believe Redmon and Armitage traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio where they picked up the fentanyl, Harris said. The two were stopped with the drug in their possession on their way back to Columbus, he said.

Redmon was arrested on preliminary charges of:

  • Dealing in a narcotic drug
  • Possession of a narcotic drug
  • Possession of a legend drug injection device
  • Bartholomew County warrant for probation violation for dealing in heroin
  • Trafficking with an inmate
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Armitage was arrested on preliminary charges of:

  • Dealing in a narcotic drug
  • Possession of a narcotic drug
  • Possession of a legend drug injection device
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
