COLUMBUS
Dan R. Haggard, 63, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 12:37 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at his home.
Dan was born August 6, 1955, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Buddy R. and Martha J. Anderson Haggard.
Mr. Haggard was a skilled machinist at Precise Tooling for many years. He enjoyed fishing, landscaping and spending time outdoors. Dan loved watching NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Going to the beach and planting flowers were among his favorite things to do in his spare time.
Survivors include his daughter, Beverly (Richard) Baker of Bedford; son, Braden (Amanda Earl) Pike of Scipio; grandchildren, Kimberly (Joe) Brewer of Seymour, Landon Pike, Logan Pike, Leyton Pike all of Scipio; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Terrell, Trinity, Matthew and Braxton Brewer, all of Seymour; sisters, Margo Smith, Kathy Wright, both of Columbus; brother, Roger Haggard of California; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buddy F. Haggard and brother-in-law, Wayne Wright.
The memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Chris Moon officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place.
