Sharon Gail Vire, 70, lost her battle with lung cancer at 9:26 a.m., Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, with her son Brian Cecil and her Husband, Bill Vire by her side.
Sharon was born January 19th, 1949 to the late Sherman Martin and Lorene Martin. Sharon was later adopted and raised by the late Alfred “Lee” and Florence Walesby. Sharon spent most of her life living in Bartholomew County and it’s surrounding counties.
Sharon married William “Bill” Vire in Cinncinati, Ohio. They had been married 37 years. He survives.
Sharon retired from the Home Health Care field. She had previously worked at MacTac for many years and Arvin’s for years prior.
Sharon enjoyed gardening, knitting, and cooking. All of which she did very well at. Christmas always came with little “cuties” she would knit. The homemade soups she made were “delicious” and she made the whole house smell wonderful!
The last several years Sharon dedicated her life to the love and care of her two great-grandchildren, Carter Moore (6) and Nova Rae Cecil (3).
Survivors include her husband, Bill; Son, Brian Cecil; Daughers, Tammy Columbia, and Susan (Rodney) Coomer; Step-Daughter, Billiejo Banuelos; Gradnchildren, Stephanie Cecil, Melanie Morris, Conner (Jessica), and Courtney Columbia, and Baylee Coomer, all of Columbus; and Drea Cecil of Greenwood; and great-grandchildren, Carter Moore and Nova Cecil.
The family would like to invite friends and family to a memorial service in Sharon’s honor on Friday, March 29th, 2019 at 5 p.m. at Hathaway-Myers Chapel with Brian Cecil officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Hathaway-Myers is serving the Vire family.
