Man in jail after deputies respond to possible kidnapping

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Louisville, Kentucky, man is in jail after police responded to a report of a woman who was possibly kidnapped being forced to drive her vehicle at gunpoint.

Ravon Tupac Tyeshawn Briggs, 22, was arrested Friday on preliminary charges of criminal confinement and possession of marijuana. He is in the Bartholomew County Jail without bond on a 72-hour hold pending further charges in the ongoing investigation, said Caitlyn Gross, spokeswoman for the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were dispatched to Interstate 65 at about 1:21 p.m. Friday in regards to a vehicle traveling with a female who was allegedly being forced to drive her vehicle after the Clarksville Police Department contacted the Bartholomew County Emergency Operations Center about the possible kidnapping, Gross said.
