Bull Dogs to hold girls soccer callout meeting

New Columbus North girls soccer coach David Young will hold a callout meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the school’s LGI room.

All female athletes interested in participating in soccer are encouraged to attend. Spring and Summer schedules will be shared, along with overall vision of the program.

Otter Creek Ladies League sets organizational meeting

An organizational meeting for the Tuesday morning Otter Creek Ladies League will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Otter Creek Golf Course.

Any ladies interested in joining the league are invited to attend.

Columbus East wrestlers contucting ‘Mulch Madness’

The Columbus East Wrestling Club is hosting its Eighth Annual Mulch Madness, with help from Hackman’s Farm Market and Greenhouse.

Individuals or businesses can order mulch by going to columbuseastathletics.com, then clicking on Winter, Wrestling, Varsity and Mulch Madness, or by texting "Mulch" to 812-343-1882 to receive a text back.

Deliveries will continue at 8 a.m. Saturday and May 13. If rainouts occur either of those Saturdays, a makeup will be on the following day. Those ordering are asked to check the website for weather-related delivery updates.

North softball team holding fundraiser

Columbus North softball will hold Drive Thru For Your School fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 at Ford Of Columbus (formerly Renner Ford), 3040 N. National Rd.

Individuals can test drive a new Ford vehicle. For every test drive taken, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 per driver to the North softball program, up to a maximum of $6,000.

North to host ‘Bull Dog Bites’ fundraiser

Columbus North will host its annual "Bull Dog Bites" fundraiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the school’s cafeteria.

For $20, patrons receive 10 bites. They can then vote for their favorite North sports team, and the top three teams receive a donation to their account.

‘Emerge 43 For the Kids’ to benefit FFY

Emerge will host "Emerge 43 For the Kids," a pro wrestling benefit event for Foundation For Youth, at 6 p.m. Saturday at FFY, 405 Hope Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Hoosier Pro Wrestling to host ‘Agression’

Hoosier Pro Wrestling will host "Agression" at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12, with kids 4-and-under free.

North Sports Physical Night to be held at Northside

Columbus North’s Sports Physical Night will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 10 at Northside Middle School. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and closes at 7 p.m.

Cost is $20 cash or check payable to CNHS Athletic Department. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and complete the IHSAA physical form. Forms are available in the North athletic office and the IHSAA website and will be available the day of the event.

Olympians to hold girls soccer callout meeting

The Columbus East girls soccer team will have a call out meeting on at 7:30 p.m. April 10 in the school’s cafeteria.

All players who are interested in playing soccer at East next year and their parents are encouraged to attend. The coaching staff will provide information regarding the program, expectations and preseason schedule.

Parks and Recreation hosting Tour de Trails events

Columbus Parks and Recreation is accepting registration for a pair of Tour de Trails events.

Youth training summit will explain resistance training

Columbus Youth Flag Football will host a youth training summit from 10 a.m. to noon April 20 in the Central Middle School main gym.

The focus of the session will be to demonstrate and explain resistance training techniques for youth athletic development. This will be a free informational session for all youth ages 6 to 18 and their parents.
