Mr. Jackie “Jack” Wayne Klakamp, 75, of Freetown, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born in Seymour to the late Glenn H. and Edna L. (Morris) Klakamp.

Immediately after leaving the Navy, Jack joined the UA Local 440 Plumbers and Pipefitters. Jack spent 39 years as a pipefitter, providing for his family. Jack was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles located in Seymour.

Jack was most known for his generous, giving and kind nature. In addition, Jack was known for his legendary “story-telling” abilities and his love for all things outdoors. Jack enjoyed many activities, but had a passion for his weekends spent with family and friends; air-boating, fishing, swimming and late-night bonfire gatherings located at his cabin on the river. Jack has touched many lives and hearts. He will be sorely missed and his children will remember him as a kind and gentle father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and dreams.

In 1964, Jack married Joyce Ann (Deaton) Klakamp. Jack was blessed with three children from this marriage. In 1985, Jack met and settled with the love of his life, Joann Prather. This union blessed him with three bonus children, Cathy Otte, John Prather and Amberly Fletcher.
