New Tech grad interns at Statehouse

Gabrielle Young-Ortiz, a graduate of Columbus Signature Academy-New Tech, is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2019 legislative session.

Ortiz is a junior studying computer information technology at IUPUI. As an IT intern, Young-Ortiz responds to IT needs of senators and staff, troubleshoots hardware and software issues, and assists in the implementation of new technologies.

“Every day that I wake up and get to work for the state of Indiana is a day I am always excited for, because I get to share my devotion and passion for helping others,” Young-Ortiz said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which will end on April 29.
