BLOOMFIELD, FORMERLY LINTON
Alexandra “Lexi” Dawn (Brown) Poindexter, age 28, of Bloomfield, formerly Linton, passed away from this earth on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Linton on November 27, 1990, the daughter of Richard & Michelle (Haussin) Brown.
Lexi was a 2009 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and received her cosmetology degree from Aveda Fredric’s Institute in Indianapolis in 2010. She worked as a hair stylist at Identity Style Salon in Bloomfield, and formerly at MarDon Salon in Bloomington, along with being a beautiful caretaker of her babies.
She was a member of Linton First Christian Church, where she served as coordinator and teacher of the preschool Sunday School program, and made an incredible impact on lives of so many children.
Lexi was a light to everyone who knew her. She had the ability to find the smallest bit of brightness in anyone and help them grow it. She loved to sing and dance and make things for her loved ones. She loved the beach and the ocean and seafood.
She was prepared for everything with a backup plan, and a fierce determination to make everything work out. Most of all, she had a faith in Christ that many can only hope to have. She will continue to live on through her beautiful children, in their laughs and cries, and their beautiful eyes. Lexi enjoyed cooking, flowers, traveling, and most importantly, being a wife and mother.
She is survived by her parents of Linton, her husband whom she married September 8, 2012, Logan M. Poindexter of Bloomfied, her daughter, Penelope Dawn, her infant son, Pruitt Richard, two sisters, Victoria (Will) Fulton of Denver, CO and Isabelle Brown of Indianapolis, maternal grandparents, Jerry and Mary “Maide” Haussin of Sandborn, paternal grandparents, Ron & Marsha Brown of Linton, her father and mother-in-law, Greg & Betsy Hundley of Columbus, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Sarah K. “Sally” Brown.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Linton First Christian Church at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, with Archie Ellett officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 3-8 p.m., and Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
