Venita E. Wishon, 89, Columbus passed from this life on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 7:45 p.m. at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Born on March 8, 1930 in East St. Louis, Illinois the daughter of Perry and Lena Pearl Smiley Howard. On February 12, 1994 she married Harold Wishon.
Mrs. Wishon was a homemaker and member of Westside Community Church, she had previously been a member of the Order of Eastern Star the Golden Fleece. She loved spending time with her family, dancing, traveling, and water aerobics.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Harold Wishon of Columbus; Children, Larry (Karen) Loudermilk of Morton, Illinois, Wayne (Linda) Loudermilk of North Port, Florida, Brenda (Mark) Wagner of Columbus, and Alan (Christine) Loudermilk of Austin, Texas; Step-daughter, Melanie Wishon of Columbus; 16 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; and Sisters-in-law, Elaine Howard and Betty Howard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Dewey Loudermilk on April 3, 1988; Step-daughter, Marta Wilson; brothers, Martin, Edward, Alvin, Henry, Lewis, Paul, Bill, and Lawrence; and sisters, Wilma, Dorothy, and Lucille.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Dennis W. Aud officiating.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 1:00 p.m. to time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Donor’s choice.
