• David and John for helping a disabled person.

• the Hauser girls tennis team for every girl making the third-quarter honor roll and for winning the Brown County Tennis Invitational on Saturday.

• all the Hauser spring sport athletes that made the third-quarter honor roll, because the hard work in the classroom is appreciated.

• all the local candidates for not mudslinging in the local elections.

• South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg for his words aimed at Mike Pence this past weekend.

• two young men who helped me with heavy groceries at Walmart on the west side the other day.

• Annette at the Kroger pharmacy for always being so pleasant when I call in there, and being good at her job.

• Karen Nading for being named the 2019 recipient of the Edna V. Folger Outstanding Teacher award, from Shirley Holmes.

• Donna at Otter Creek for helping make Mom’s 90th birthday so special.

• the myopic letter writer who continually echoes the demagoguery of the right-wing media to smear the supporters of one political party.

• Republican whiners.

• people who need to beware of the half-truth because they may have gotten hold of the wrong half.

• those who don’t realize that people buy broken items at hamfests to either repair them or re-use those parts that are good.

• those who sent in an Onion about the man who was not a war hero.

• the city for not doing anything about all the potholes on Northbrook and Bridge Pointe.

• the man in the neighborhood who has raccoon hides and other animal hides in his garage and driveway, causing a nuisance to neighbors.

• the local nonprofit organization that totally messed up.
