Mike E. Lucas, 67, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Columbus, IN passed away April 3, 2019 at his Leesburg residence. He was born on July 19, 1951 to Alva and Nancy Lucas.
He worked as an Engineering Associate for Cummins Inc. for 34 years prior to his retirement from Cummins Industrial Center in 2012.
He was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting, and canoeing. In his retirement he enjoyed working in his shop, making fishing lures, leading the community Christmas parade, visiting (“Porching”) with friends and family, and taking golf cart rides with his dog Bennet.
He is survived by his wife Meredith (Culver) Lucas of Leesburg, FL, son Michael Lucas (Bethany) of Columbus, IN, grandson Cory Lucas of Morgantown, IN, and a brother Marvin Lucas of Akron, OH
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marilyn Morris (Enoch) and Marsha Kay Alamano (Steve), and sister-in-law Monica Lucas (Marvin).
A celebration of his life was held at Lake Harris Landing Community Center in Leesburg on April 9, 2019. A local celebration of life to be announced.
