The film “Breakthrough,” based on the inspirational and seemingly impossible true story of one mother’s unfaltering love in the face of impossible odds, opens today at YES Cinema.
When Joyce Smith’s son, John, falls through an icy Missouri lake, she refuses to give up although he is lifeless and unresponsive. Based on Smith’s book, the movie is about her belief that faith and love could create a miracle for her son.
The film stars Chrissy Metz of the TV show “This is Us”, Topher Grace, Josh Lucas and Marcel Ruiz, with Mike Colter and Dennis Haysbert.
