WESTPORT
Bradley D. Mahaffey, 61, of Westport, passed from this life at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Decatur County Hospital.
Brad was born June 30, 1957 in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of William D. and Sibyl E. Wiley Mahaffey.
He married Sylvia L. Bohall, November 22, 1999.
Brad was owner of Brad’s Excavating and was a member of Indiana Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association and NRA.
A horse enthusiast, Brad enjoyed attending and watching thoroughbred horse racing, especially the horse’s that he and his wife bred and raised; Pass The Crown, Santisteban and many others.
He was especially fond of being in the winner’s circle of the horse’s he bred and raised.
Survivor include his wife, Sylvia L. Mahaffey of Westport; mother, Sibyl E. Mahaffey of Hope; brother, Warren (Delores) Mahaffey of Hope; nephew, Cory Mahaffey of Hope; niece, Casey (Mason) Bolton of Hope; great-nephew, Brody Bolton; and a great-niece, Piper Bolton.
He was preceded in death by his father, William D. Mahaffey.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 and noon to time of service.
Burial will be Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery in Westport.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Premier Hospice & Home Health or Riley Hospital for Children.
